Bands, Bites and Boats at Bond Park
On June 1 and 6, experience the ultimate combination of food trucks, after-hours boat rentals, and live music. This event gives you the chance to grab your favorite snack, then float out onto Bond Lake while local musicians serenade you from the shore. If you don’t want to venture out on the water, stay on land with a lawn chair to enjoy the festivities. The feature performer in June will be Garland Mason followed by Chris Overstreet in July. The music starts at 6 and entry to the event is free.
NC Symphony Summerfest 2018
Head to the Koka Booth Amphitheatre on June 1 to enjoy “A Rodgers and Hammerstein Celebration” put on by the North Carolina Symphony. The annual Summerfest concert is sure to please with your favorite songs from The King and I, Oklahoma!, Carousel, and other musicals. For a seat in the stands, pay $36 and buy your tickets in advance, or you can simply grab a lawn chair from your apartment home and sit on the lawn for $17 a person.
Wind Down Wednesday Summer Concert Series
On Wednesdays throughout the summer, with the exception of July Fourth, head to Waverly Place’s park and stage area to experience live music performances on the outdoor stage. Bringing in local musicians like Liquid Pleasure Band of Oz and Hip Pocket, among others, Wind Down Wednesday is the perfect way to get over hump day. Bring your lawn chair, blanket and even your dog on a leash to enjoy the festivities, and take advantage of food, wine and beer for sale. The concerts are free.
Shop the Farmers Market
Every Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm, head to downtown Cary for the Cary Downtown Farmers Market. Enjoy fresh grown produce, tantalizing baked goods and the work of local artists and craftsmen. Stock up on the veggies you will need for the week as you interact with your community every weekend. Or if you’re decorating a new apartment, enjoy the chance to pick up some décor made by locals.
