Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood is one of its fastest growing business districts, with much to do all throughout the year. From an apartment in SouthPark, you can find much to keep you busy. From shopping to dining to a good, old-fashioned workout, SouthPark has something for everyone. Here are some of the best things to do in the community.
Attend the Summer Pops Series
The Charlotte Symphony comes to SouthPark in the summer for the Summer Pops series. This decades-old tradition started in 1983, and it invites members of the community to a local park on Sundays in June to enjoy a free outdoor orchestral concert. A highlight of the Summer Pops series is the last concert in July which is a patriotic event in honor of Independence Day.
Grab a Bite to Eat
The dining scene is on par in SouthPark. In fact, eating out is a favorite pastime of community residents. Consider the top-rated Barrington’s, where you can get high-end comfort food like mashed potatoes that just happen to be topped with truffles or seared organic chicken with wilted spinach in a garlic pan sauce.
If you are in the mood for something international in flavor, head to Yafo Kitchen. Headed up by Israel-born chef Shai Fargian, this restaurant has Middle Eastern-inspired flavors. Baku is another international option, offering the flavors of Japan in the heart of SouthPark.
For a more American dining experience, with a full wine list, visit Corkbuzz. Not only can you enjoy a wine education experience, but you will also enjoy tasty food. The Oak Steakhouse is another popular favorite for those who want down-home flavors.
Workout at the Y
SouthPark is home to the Harris YMCA. Here members can not only enjoy prime workout facilities, but also community activities, classes and events. If course, your apartment community may already have a workout facility, but at the Y you can take the classes you need to stay fit and make friends in the community.
Shopping in SouthPark
SouthPark is home ot the SouthPark Mall, considered one of the top shopping destinations in Charlotte. The SouthPark Mall is anchored by well-known names like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, and is also home to the city’s Coach, Tiffany and Louis Vuitton locations. The mall features over 150 retailers and dining establishments, many of which are upscale options and boutiques.
As you can see, SouthPark has much to keep you engaged and entertained. Take a weekend and get out there to get to know your apartment community, and fall in love with all that SouthPark has to offer.
