Fall is an exciting time in the Triangle. Not only are the leaves starting to change and the weather to get cooler, but this is also a time when there are many exciting things to do around our community. Take a look at some of these upcoming events that will make great additions to your calendar when you want to leave your luxury apartment and do a little community exploration.
Triangle Out of the Darkness Walk
On September 30 at 9:00 AM, head to Durham Central Park for the annual Out of the Darkness walk. The walk raises awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A full half of the proceeds will be used in communities in North Carolina. Before the walk, enjoy coffee and breakfast food trucks, music, speakers and activities, then enjoy a walk through downtown Durham. Leashed pets are welcome.
Cary Players Present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
September 28-30 and October 5-7, Cary Players will be performing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This play takes a lighthearted look at the story of Joseph from the Bible, with music and script written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. This classic performance is one you will thoroughly enjoy, and the performance will take place at the Cary Arts Center.
On October 19 and 20, the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary will host the 5th Annual Triangle Oktoberfest. This German festival brings out traditional Bavarian food and drink, and of course plenty of beer including some all the way from Munich. The proceeds from the festival will go to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and several other Triangle-area charities.
Bull City Race Fest
Bull City Race Fest is a weekend event in Durham that combines food and racing. Runners can choose from several races, including a half marathon, five-mile run and one-mile run for all ages. A Food Truck Rodeo will take place at the same time, featuring many of Durham’s favorite local food trucks. The event will also have a Octoberfest Beer Garden and Kids Zone Experience. A Carb Crawl through local restaurants will round out the festivities. Bull City Race Fest is scheduled for October 21 starting at 11.
With so many activities coming up in fall, you will find your calendar filling quickly. Find the ones that best fit your needs and tastes, and get ready to experience all that makes the Triangle area great!
