Cary, NC comes alive during the holiday season. If you are getting ready to enjoy some festivities this year, take a look at some of the popular local things to do. Heart of the Holidays
Cary’s biggest holiday event, Heart of the Holidays brings festivities to downtown. From the tree lighting at the Town Hall Campus to the gingerbread house competition in downtown Cary and even the Page-Walker Arts and History Center’s open house, complete with live Victorian-era carolers, there is something for everyone in this annual event. A favorite activity is the Cary Players Presents a 1940s Carol, which will take place at 3 and 7:30 at the Cary Arts Center. This year’s Heart of the Holidays celebration is scheduled for December 1.

Milk and Cookies with Santa
For the young and the young at heart, Baby+Co. Cary offers a free Milk and Cookies with Santa event. Guests can decorate their own sugar cookie, have their faces painted and enjoy a visit with the Jolly Old Elf himself. Tickets to reserve a time are required.

24th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration
In addition to Christmas celebrations, Cary hosts a number of multi-cultural holiday events, including the 24th Annual Cary Kwanzaa Celebration. Held on Friday, December 28 at the Cary Arts Center at 11 AM, this event will feature a wealth of African-American musicians on stage, as well as a fun fashion show and dance performances. A vendor’s market and children’s play area are also part of the celebration. It will include a traditional Kwanzaa ceremony at 1 PM.
