This festive time of year is an excellent time to get out of your apartment home and enjoy the community of Charlotte. You will find quite a few activities throughout the season that make it easier to enjoy the holidays and your loved ones, without traveling far from home. Consider these popular activities.

Check Out Holidays at the Garden
Every holiday season, the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden comes alive with brilliant holiday displays. These displays are made even better because they are set to music. You’ll also enjoy a large Department 56 Dickens’ Village Series display, model trains and plenty of shopping. The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is located in Belmont.

Experience Holiday on Ice
Through January 6, head to NASCAR Hall of Fame to enjoy Uptown Charlotte’s outdoor ice skating rink. Not only can you enjoy ice skating seven days a week, but you can also see the 39-foot tree, enjoy Ceremonial Garden with its brilliant light display and take your picture with the giant polar bear that is iconic to the event.

See the Nutcracker
Nothing says the holidays like the Nutcracker, and the Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is pleased to host the event again this year. Quickly becoming a Charlotte holiday traditional the Nutcracker features music by the Charlotte Symphony, stunning stagecraft, brilliant ballet and re-imagined costuming.

See Winter Wonderland at South Park
Every year, South Park transforms into Winter Wonderland, with a giant ice rink, beautiful holiday lights and plenty of festive music. Santa’s elves make sure there is snowfall daily, and you can sip hot chocolate or something a little stronger from Santa’s Pub. You can even choose a tree and have it delivered directly to your apartment door by real elves using the Tree Elves service!
